Crown Crystal Glass (later Crown Corning) opened and operated a plant in New Zealand, located in Hornby, Christchurch. They produced everyday glassware that can be found in many New Zealand and Australian households today, as well as around the world, being exported to a number of countries globally including the USA, UK, Netherlands, Germany, and even Scandinavia.

Known as Crown Crystal, the majority of their everyday glassware range across this peak period of production were marketed under the 'Kaaru Glass' brand.
