Lawrence Ewing was a potter who began potting in Loburn in 1973. After studying with Michael Trumic, he worked as a potter full time for 12 years. In 1986 he was appointed to a full-time lectureship in ceramics at Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin, and taught there until 2006, when he moved to Five Rivers, Southland. He now lives in Waikouwaiti and has retired from potting.
This piece is exceptional with its brown earth tones and rustic handles on the outside. It is a perfect representation of 1970s wheel thrown studio pottery.
Suitable for oven use and stovetop cooking of soups, stews, and casseroles.
